Marina Variety Store

I am very excitable, so when my local friend asked to take me to his favorite breakfast spot a week ago, I got in my mood. Anything with the word “local” associated makes me smile. I’m all about wanderlust. This restaurant is located near the Charleston Marina and for this reason, has an unbeatable view. Though Charleston is a peninsula, there are few places you can eat by the water. I don’t know what makes eating waterside so much more enjoyable, but whatever it is works for me. You can tell that whoever brewed the sweet tea knew what they were doing. It was the perfect amount of sweet to tea ratio. Its not as easy as it sounds; in fact, it’s an art. Because it was my last southern breakfast for a while (spoiler alert: I will be in Paris for the next few months), I went all out. I ordered grits with shrimp and fried green tomatoes. It hit my southern sweet spot.

Between the locals and the sweet tea, I will be back.
